Fall registration has been temporarily removed while we work out a few bugs that people found. It should be back up shortly.
Please follow the directions below.
U10 & U11 Any new team may register. U10 & U11 placement is done on a regional basis and play 8 v 8. These games are played Sunday mornings at 10:30 or 11:45. All U10 & U11 teams must supply a field appropriate to that age group. USYA recommends field size for 8 v 8 to be 70-80 yards by 45-55 yards. Appropriate goal size is 6 x 18 feet.
Scores are not kept for U10 games, but they are for U11. U11 groups are evenly mixed and regionalized to the extent possible. U11 groups from the spring will be re-aligned in U12 based on the appendix to the Consitution.
The maximum roster size is 15 for both age groups. However, for U10 rosters least 50% of the roster must attain the age of 10 during the seasonal year.
U12 Any new team may register. Exact placement cannot be determined until after registration when the total number of teams in each group is finalized. New teams are placed in the bottom divisions. These age groups play 11 v 11 and the maximum roster size is 18. All games are Sunday afternoons at 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00.
U13 Divisions 1 & 2 are determined the previous spring. Any new team may register for MAPLE-D. MAPLE-D sections are evenly mixed. At the end of the fall season some teams are dropped as a result of fall play and a post-season tournament. These age groups play 11 v 11 and the maximum roster size is 18. All games are Sunday afternoons at 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00.
U14 No new teams are accepted. Teams for the spring are determined by the qualifying tournament held the previous June. These age groups play 11 v 11 and the maximum roster size is 18. All games are Sunday afternoons at 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00.
Registration Instructions:
1. Go to the front of the MAPLE website. Login into your club at the club login which is located at the bottom right of the front page. In most cases your user name is your email. If you do not remember your password the system will send it to you. If you are having trouble please contact me.
If you are a new club, you will see a place where you can create a club. This is for new clubs only. Everyone who had teams in the league last spring will already have the information available on the website.
2. You will be asked to register teams for the fall 2009 season by clicking the red button next to "fall 2009" U10-U12 teams and U13 "D" teams will be listed as "open season" since those divisions have not yet been determined. All other teams should be listed in their appropriate division.
You will be required to complete coaches and managers information before you can register. Teams returning from last season will have the coach's and manager's information carried over. You can edit or change this as necessary. You can also create new teams.
3. When you are done with each age group mark the box next to it to register the team. When all the teams are done hit the bottom bar to register selected teams. That will send an email to me to approve the teams. Teams will be approved only when a check for them is received in the MAPLE office or paid by credit card which will automatically approve them.
Clubs owing forfeit fines or tournament fees will not have their registration approved until the fines are paid.
4. All clubs must supply a field suitable for their teams. U10 & U11 games are Sunday mornings, 10:30 & 11:45. All others are Sundays afternoons, 1:00, 2:45 & 4:30. Clubs comprising 1 or 2 teams may join together to share a field. All fields must be available for at least 2 of the above time slots in order to supply referees. If you are a single team club I will schedule another match with you in order to meet this requirement. It is your responsibilty to clear this with whoever operates the field. Your field will not be used unless your team is also scheduled there, however, no fields will be accepted for league use which restrict their usage solely to the club which submits it.
You can also specify certain dates your field is available if you are sharing it with town organizations, but I need this information when your register the club.
Field requirements:
1-4 teams 1 field
5-8 teams 2 fields
9-13 teams 3 fields
14-19 teams 4 fields
Field information has been added to the registration form. A list of your previous fields will appear. If there are no changes you do not have to do anything. If there are, select the "manage your fields" button. You will then have the option to create new fields, delete previous ones, or exclude teams or dates.
If you have a field only for U10 use you must exclude all your other teams from it. Likewise, exclude the U10 teams from your larger fields. You can also differentiate fields on the basis of size if you would like your older or younger teams on certain fields.
5. In the past I have honored requests to arrange schedules for coaches who have more than 1 team. You will be restricted to 2 coaches per club if you have more than one field, and 1 coach if you only have one field. I must have an email from the club indicating who those coachs are. This includes coaches of U10 teams.
6. Division 1 teams and U12 teams in the Blue Division may postpone one match per season to attend a tournament. If you intend to exercise this option I must be informed by August 1st.
League fees for fall are $765 for U10 & U11, $970 for U12-U14.
The deadline for registration is July 15th. After that date teams will be accepted only to even out groups. It is also the last date a team can be withdrawn and the fee will be refunded. After August 1st, any club that withdraws a team will have a $700 penalty.
If you are paying by check it should be sent to the Massachusetts Premier League, 85 Cottage St, Natick, MA 01760 by July 20th. If you have any questions regarding the materials please call or email Kathy Irwin at 508-655-3210, kathyirwin2@verizon.net.
The season starts September 13th and runs for 9 weeks. We do not play Columbus Day weekend.
