Qualification Games - U14 Division 3 for Fall 2009
Eight teams will automatically qualify for fall 2009 based on spring league finish. These will be the top 3 teams in each section and the next 2 best records. The top 2 in each division will advance to Division 2. The 2 third place finishers will play each in a single game for the last place in Division 2.
The remaining 8 teams will play in a tournament with any new teams who apply for the remaining 6 spots. Tournament format will be determined by the number of teams that apply.
Qualifying games will be held June 6th & 7th. Teams with players attending the Rider Cup will have the option of playing their matches the following weekend. All games will be at Citizens Bank Fields in Lancaster.
The fee for the tournament is $600.
The declaration form for the tournament will be on line in mid April and will be due in the MAPLE office by May 1st. Payment will be available by either check or credit card. Any team who does not have to play will have their check returned. The fee pays for the tournament, it is not a deposit on league fees.

Roster Requirements for all Division 3 qualifying games are as follows:
All league rosters are frozen on May 16th. This roster freeze remains in effect for all Division 1 & 2 teams, Division 3 teams who have automatically qualified for MAPLE-D 2008-2009, Massachusetts State Cup round robin participants, and teams who have qualified for the U11 & U12 tournaments. Rosters for the qualifying tournaments may not have any players on them who are rostered to teams which meet the above criteria.
After midnight on May 17th any Division 3 team who does not automatically qualify for fall 2009 will have their roster unfrozen. The roster submitted for the tournament is considered a "tournament only" roster. All rosters must be received in the Maple office by June 2nd. All players must have passcards and be affiliated with Mass Youth Soccer. Any out of state player must have a release from their state association to play in Massachusetts. These rosters do not need to be signed by the area registrars.
Teams currently playing in MAPLE who wish to play in the qualifying tournament in order to establish a new club must apply to the MAPLE office for a waiver. The team must compete with a roster with at least 75% of the players in common with their current league roster. Any additions must be in accordance with the roster rules outlined above. Teams who have been automatically disqualified from MAPLE may not exercise this option, although their players are free to join other teams in the qualifying tournament.
The MAPLE office will verify the rosters and reserves the right to question any player they do not regard as legally rostered.
