Paul Irwin Cup 11v11 2014

Boys:  The tournament will consist of 8 teams.  
 
No playdown games are necessary.
 
Girls:  The tournament will consist of 12 teams
 

SS Select  - F will play Fuller Hamlets - H for seed #12.  The game must be played by May 29th and the team listed first is the home team and must supply the field.   Notification of the game must be emailed to MAPLE and copied to Damian Arrondo, Damian Arrondo@MassRef.net.   

 
 
The Paul Irwin Cup is a year end tournament for the U12 age group. Participation in this tournament has no bearing on team placement for the following season. It is purely voluntary. Guest players are not allowed for this tournament. The tournament will have both 8v8 and 11v11 formats. Qualification for the Paul Irwin Cup will be as follows:
 
Boys: 11v11
12 teams will be accepted into the tournament, to be determined as follows:  
The top 5 teams from the Blue Section, plus the top 3 teams from the Red Section for a total of 8 teams. 
The remaining 4 teams will be determined as follows by playdown games arranged prior to the tournament.
The remaining 3 teams in the Blue Section, next 3 teams in the Red Section and the top 2 teams in the White Section will qualify for the playdown games to determine the final 4 teams.  
 
Girls: 11v11
16 teams will be accepted into the tournament, to be determined as follows:
Note:  The Stars - M and SS Select - M teams currently playing U13 will be seeded into the tournament.  

The top 6 teams from the Blue Section, plus the top 4 teams from the Green Section for a total of 11 teams.
The remaining 5 teams will be determined as follows by playdown games arranged prior to the tournament.
The remaining 2 teams in the Blue Section, the remaining 4 teams in the Green Section,  the top 3 teams in the Red Section and the winner of the White Section will qualify for the playdown games to determine the final 5 teams.   
 
 
 
Format and Schedule
 
Playdown games will be self-scheduled with the higher seed being the home team. The twelve or sixteen tournament teams will be divided into three or four groups for round robin play.
 
Seeding for the tournament will be done by section, starting with Blue, then Green, etc
 
11v11 round robin games will be May 31st & June 1st.  The quarterfinals, semi-finals & finals for both will be June 14th & 15th.   All games will be in Lancaster.  
 
There will be no quarterfinals for the B12 group.  The semi-finals will be the winners of the 3 sections and the best 2nd place record.
 
The fee for the tournament is $600 and must be received in the MAPLE office by May 15th.
 
Registration  for the tournament will be on line in mid April and will be due in the MAPLE office by May 15th. Payment will only be available by check. Any team who does not qualify will have their check returned. The fee pays for the tournament, it is not a deposit on the fall season.
